First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has lauded the efforts exerted by Troika States in supporting the peace process and the transitional period in Sudan.
The FVP welcomed in his office at the Republican Palace the Troika delegation which included the US Envoy Donald Booth, UK Envoy, Bob Feroyds, and Norwegian Envoy, Andre Stansen for their signing yesterday on the Juba Peace Agreement, affirming that that will h ave its considerable contribution in the implementation of the agreement.
He called on Troika States to continue its support to implement Juba Peace Agreement and overcoming the obstacles of the transitional period successfully.
The FVP reiterated the keenness of the government to achieve peace and democratic transition, adding that the parties to the peace understand the objective treasons which lead to the delay in fully completing the items stipulated in the agreement.
For his part, the US Special Envoy to Sudan and S. Sudan, Donald Booth said in press statements that the meeting discussed the process of Juba Peace Agreement Implementation, adding that they expressed desire to join the agreed upon mechanism for the implementation of the agreement.
He added that the meeting was fruitful and practical as it discussed the obstacles facing the implementation including the security arrangements item, affirming Troika support to the transitional government to achieve the democratic transition and implementing the peace agreement in respond to the aspirations of the Sudanese people
