TROIKA and IGAD States sign today Juba Peace Agreement in the Presence of the First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, and Dr. Abdallah Hmadok, the Prime Minister.TROIKA representatives USA .UK, and Norway have signed on behalf of TROIKA, the Executive Director signed on behalf of IGAD .
The Occasion was attended by top officials of the Sovereign Council, the Cabinet, TROIKA envoy to Sudan, Diplomats representatives. UN agencies in the context of the International support to succeed the impending of the agreement.
FVP of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st. Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo expressed appreciation, thank and gratitude to the TROIKA States to TROIKA States for joining the peace agreement signatories list, when addressing the occasion .Pointing to that the signing come as supporting to the peace implementation and boosting stability in the country .He expressed his gratitude to the world community in realizing peace. He noted to the major role of the USA in removing Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism that has great impact to push forward spiritually the parties to reach to the agreement.
He lauded the role of South Sudan in the mediation, besides the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Chad and Qatar.
FVP said that the peace parties became essential partner in the State mechanisms that assisted in preparing the atmosphere to realize the required harmony, and joining work to boost peace. He affirmed the seriousness of the government to implement all articles of the agreement. He noted to forming of a national committee to follow up the implementation of the agreement, and proving support to solve the causes d delaying. In addition to the rearranging of the schedule of the matrix.
His Excellency saluted the patience of the IDPS, refugees, farmers and nomads who are affected by war. He called on them to return to their origins. He renewed his commitment of the State to provide protection for them. He appealed the International Organizations and the donors to continue support and assistance in peace building in Sudan. The FVP called on the peace non-signatories of the armed movements to join the peaceful process to help the affected people and participate in building Sudan.
