Daglo Chairs the High Committee of Firearms Collection and Non-codified Vehicles

First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has chaired today at the Republican Palace the meeting of the high committee of firearms collection and the non-codified vehicles in the presence of number of ministers, governors of states and leaders of security institutions.
The technical coordinator of the high committee and its spokesperson, Lt. Gen. (Dr.)Abdul Hadi Abdallah Osman said, in press statement, that the committee has taken several decisions on top of which the continuation  and intensifying of firearms collection through assigning forces in the states to follow up the process, besides using modern detecting apparatuses and police dogs to seize the unlicensed firearms, along with  asking the assistance of foreign parties to present Sudan’s experience in firearms collection before the African Union and other states round the globe to attract the support in this regard.
He added that the high committee decided to give grace time to the citizens who own 4WD vehicles to license it and revoking the previous decision till providing the required money from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning to purchase those vehicles.
On regard to Boko Haram vehicles, the technical coordinator said that the committee decided to give a last chance to the citizens to license their vehicles within two months after which any vehicles will be subject to confiscation, pointing out to the strict closing of the borders during the said period by the regular forces.
He added that the first 15 days of the period will be for registration and computing starting from 1st up to 15th January. The period from 16 January up to 1st march will be for licensing the vehicles , adding that after this period any vehicle be confiscated, affirming that this is the final decision which will be firmly implemented.
