Daglo Meets Minister of Labour and Social Development

First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo received in his office at the Republican Palace, Minister of Labour and Social Development Dr. Lina Al-Sheikh in the presence of the General Manager of the Anti-Violence against Women Unit, Suliama Ishaq.
For her part, General Manager of the Anti-Violence against Women Unit said in press statement that the meeting discussed the issues related to women’s protection in conflict area based on the commitment of the government to adopt the Frame Agreement between the government and the UN on women’s protection in conflict areas from sexual violence, adding that the meeting also discussed the protection of civilains after the exit of UNAMID from Darfur, emphasizing the impotance of activating the role of the regular forces in supporting the protection of women.
Suliama disclosed that the meeting was fruitful as it confirmed the government’s support to the issues of violence against women, affirming that the meeting will continue to set a legal frame in order to boost the joint cooperation on training and capacity-building aspects besides establishing unit for women’s protection within the RSF and other regular forces.
