RSF Special Envoy Meets Ugandan President to Discuss Sudan War, Road to Peace

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni met recently with Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Special Envoy Yousif Izzat.

During their meeting, they discussed the situation in Sudan – and, particularly, the continuing war orchestrated by the Sudanese Armed Forces with the support of members of the former regime of dictator Omar al-Bashir.

Izzat underscored the role that the former regime has played in the conflict.

He also stressed the RSF’s commitment to peace, democracy, and human rights, while adding that its aim is to ensure a smooth transition to a civilian-led government.

Izzat also discussed the misleading narratives circulated by those aligned with the former regime.

Museveni, in turn, expressed his deep understanding of the situation in Sudan and called for a swift end to the conflict.

He also emphasized the need to prioritize the interests of the people of Sudan to achieve peace and stability.
