MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) extends its sincerest appreciation to the Arab leaders who convened at the 32nd Arab League Summit on Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Their Jeddah Declaration, which was adopted at the close of the summit, addressed critical issues, such as the continuing war in Sudan, and affirms our shared commitment to stability.

We are deeply moved by the solidarity shown by our Arab brothers to the people of Sudan at this moment of crisis. It is crucial for us to continue working together to bring about a swift end to this war and to shed light on the realities in Sudan, countering narratives that distort the truth.

It is, therefore, regrettable that the conclusion of the summit was tainted by misleading statements by Sudanese Foreign Ministry Undersecretary, Ambassador Dafallah Ali al-Hajj.

We are troubled by the disinformation so brazenly disseminated at the event by Amb. al-Hajj, whose shameful performance paid little regard to the facts as they stand on the ground in Sudan.

The ambassador’s remarks were no more than an attempt to use the summit as a platform for amplifying false rumors and spreading hate — and contrast sharply with the overarching spirit of the event.

Al-Hajj is a notorious figure. A member of the Sudan Muslim Brotherhood, he served as a diplomat under former dictator and military officer Omar al-Bashir. He is known for defending al-Bashir's crimes and has long denied the role of radical Islamist organizations in genocide and terrorism in Sudan.

We maintain our utmost confidence in the wisdom of Arab leaders and our allied nations.

We are confident that they will not allow the SAF and its extremist backers to usurp power in Sudan. Their keen understanding of the situation in our country and the roots of today’s crisis will be pivotal in guiding our collective way forward. 

The RSF remains steadfast in its commitment to democracy, peace, and justice for the people of Sudan. We honor our righteous martyrs who laid down their lives for these very values.
