Acting Governor of Kassala State, Al-Arbab Mohamed Al-Fadul launched this morning (Tuesday) at the government’s General Secretariat building the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) convoy to support the floods-affected people in Kassala State.
The convoy comes under the auspices of 1st Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Commander in Chief of the RSF, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
The Governor commended the efforts of the RSF in supporting the needy citizens, revealing the size of the damages, especially in River Atbara Locality from village No. 1 to Village No. 8, and Aroma Locality, pointing out that the RSF is the first institution that dispatched a convoy to support the flood-affected citizens.
For his part, the Commander of the RSF (Eastern Sector), Colonel Yahia Mohamed Adam, emphasized the importance of providing support to the floods-affected , adding that such activity is one of the essential duties of the RSF.
Meanwhile, the commander of the RSF convoy said that the convoy comes within the social responsibility to provide the required support to the affected citizens in all the states of Sudan, adding that the convoy included foodstuff, shelter materials, and mosquito nets besides launching sprinkling spraying to prevent the disease vectors.
