Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has met leaders, political and social figures, native administrations, intellectuals, and women belonging to the Fur Tribe at Zalingi University yesterday.
The vice president was briefed on the security, social, and services situation in Central Darfur State. He called on the community to maintain peaceful coexistence and uphold tribal values of tolerance. “Female participation has tremendous importance in society,” he said.
Dagalo also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality. "Despite existing challenges and the huge number of IDPs, you live together in peace,” he said. He also asked community members to convince Abdul-Wahid Mohammed Al-Nur to return home and participate in dialogue to maintain peace and stability for all Sudanese.
Dagalo underscored that the government’s first concern is to collect weapons. He added that the issue of collecting arms is complex and requires careful consideration and modern technology.
Meanwhile, Native Administration Chief Dimigawi Sisi Fadol Sisi briefed the vice president on the role of the native administration in maintaining peace and stability and bringing an end to sedition and hate speech.
He also praised the visit of the vice president and his accompanying delegation.
