Transitional Sovereignty Council VP briefed on situation in Darfur

General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has met on Saturday with the Darfur Government, chaired by Governor Minni Arko Minnawi and his deputy Dr. Mohammed Issa Aleo.
The meeting was attended by North Darfur State Governor Nimir Mohammed Abd El-Rahman, West Darfur State Governor Khamees Abd Allah Abaker, Acting South Darfur State Governor Hamid El-Tigani Hanon, Acting East Darfur State Governor, Judge Mohammed Adam Abd El-Rahman, and Acting Central Darfur State Governor Saad Adam Babiker.
Dagalo was briefed on the situation in Darfur and the outcomes and recommendations of the Darfur Governors Conference, which was held in Khartoum on June 8-9.
In a press statement, Acting Deputy of the Darfur Region Mohammed Issa Elaiu said the meeting addressed challenges such as how to best secure the agricultural season, herder movements, and the security situation in West Darfur.
