On Saturday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) achieved a remarkable victory by decisively defeating a division of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), its allied mercenary groups, and its extremist militias linked to the former regime. During the Battle of South Shendi, we successfully destroyed one of the opposing force’s most crucial strongholds south of Shendi in River Nile State.
The enemy division, which attempted to attack our forces on the Gaili axis, suffered significant losses. More than 300 enemy combatants were killed, 25 were taken prisoner, and dozens were wounded. Our courageous soldiers pursued the retreating enemy to an area near the southern gate of Shendi, where we captured a substantial cache of materiel. This included over 70 fully equipped combat vehicles and three armored vehicles.
Our forces also confiscated three 122mm launchers and five Renault trucks loaded with ammunition. We also secured a complete jamming system, a tanker, loading equipment, and a Hauser 122 cannon. Numerous other vehicles and large quantities of various weapons and ammunition were also seized.
After pursuing the remnants of the fleeing enemy forces to the southern gate of Shendi, our forces strategically withdrew as the enemy sought refuge among civilians.
The Battle of South Shendi represents another heroic chapter in our ongoing struggle for liberation from the tyranny of the SAF terrorist leadership and its allied extremist militias linked to the former regime. This victory paves the way for the establishment of a new Sudanese state founded on principles of justice for all its people. It also reaffirms our commitment to reestablishing a unified national army dedicated solely to the protection of our land and citizens.
