The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied extremist militias linked to the former regime persist in committing egregious crimes against innocent and unarmed civilians.
Today, SAF warplanes indiscriminately attacked Gandahar Market, located west of Omdurman, killing dozens of civilians, including children, who were simply there to help their families earn a living. Known for the delicious meals it serves to visitors from all across the tripartite metropolis of Khartoum, the market — once a bustling and peaceful place — became a tragic site of violence.
We strongly condemn these inhumane acts and call upon the international community and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to end these horrific crimes. We urge them to denounce the barbaric directives issued by the terror-driven former regime and their coconspirators within the SAF, who have relentlessly bombed residential areas since this war began on April 15.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stands firmly with the Sudanese people in confronting these atrocities and prosecuting the criminals responsible. Our commitment is to rebuild Sudan on new foundations of justice and democracy.
